The Big 6 auf einer Bühne: Paul McCartney, Rolling Stones, Roger Waters, Bob Dylan, Neil Young und The Who für US-Festival gebucht.

Coachella (kluk) - The Who-Sänger Roger Daltrey schwärmte schon länger von der Zusammenkunft, vor wenigen Stunden bestätigte mit Neil Young dann auch der letzte Oldtimer seine Teilnahme. Bei dem noch unbenannten, in Anlehnung an den Austragungsort scherzhaft Oldchella getauften Veteranen-Festival in Kalifornien treten im Oktober Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Roger Waters, Bob Dylan, Neil Young und The Who auf.

Schon Ende April sprach Daltrey von einem einmaligen Event, bei dem "die letzten Verbliebenen unserer Ära" auftreten sollten. Das historische Event soll nun voraussichtlich vom 7. bis zum 9. Oktober am Empire Polo Club im kalifornischen Indio stattfinden – dem Schauplatz des legendären Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festivals. Details existieren bis dato keine, auf den Facebook-Kanälen der Künstler machten lediglich knappe Ankündigungsvideos die Runde.

Israel-Boykottierer Waters neben den Stones

Ferner dürfte interessant sein, ob sich Roger Waters als wortgewaltigster Anführer einer kulturellen Israel-Boykott-Bewegung im Zuge des Festivals Worte zu den Rolling Stones oder Neil Young verkneifen kann. Mick Jagger und Co. traten im Juni 2014 ungeachtet eines Shitstorms zum ersten Mal in ihrer Karriere in Israel auf. Neil Young sagte seine Show vier Wochen später ab, allerdings nur aufgrund von Sicherheitsbedenken seitens der Behörden.

Waters appelliert seit Jahren in offenen Briefen an sämtliche Künstler, den Konzertort Israel wegen der Besatzung des palästinensischen Westjordanlands zu meiden. Den Auftritt der Stones setzte er seinerzeit auf eine moralische Stufe "mit einem Auftritt in Sun City zu den Hochzeiten der südafrikanischen Apartheid."

Astronomische Ticketpreise werden erwartet

Spekuliert werden darf insbesondere auf die wohl astronomischen Ticketpreise. Die geschlossene Ü70er-Fraktion (sieht man einmal großzügig über Ron Wood und einige The Who-Mitglieder hinweg) ist beim Thema Gagen nicht gerade für Bescheidenheit bekannt. Insbesondere Mick und Keith sowie McCartney und Waters fordern für gute Plätze gerne einmal mehr als 200 Euro. Finanziell erschwerend (wenn auch für Fans sicherlich positiv) hinzu kommt der Umstand, dass die Künstler statt verkürzter Festivalshows vollwertige Konzerte spielen sollen. Der britische Guardian will erfahren haben, dass für den ersten Tag die Auftritte von Dylan und McCartney, für den zweiten Tag Young und die Stones und für den letzten Tag The Who und Waters angedacht sind.

Ob der geneigte Fan dafür mehr als das Doppelte als für eine Guns N' Roses-Reunionshow hinblättern muss und was Axl Rose eigentlich von der ganzen Sache hält, bleibt also abzuwarten.

    waters - politisch mal wieder unter aller kanone und derbst einseitig - aber musikalisch wird er natürlich ein gewinn sein, wenn er en guten tag hat.
    ein line-up made in heaven. mehr lebende (!) musikgeschichte auf einem haufen geht kaum.

    Politisch meint oft eine Position haben, das ist immer eine Seite. Also dem Herrn Waters vorwerfen das er "derbst einseitig" ist, ist so ähnlich wie dem Ei vor zu werfen es wäre unrund. Grundsätzlich verstehe ich das so, das unpolitisch einfach fröhlich Musik machen, für den Herrn Waters nicht geht. Wo ich bei ihm bin! Seine politischen Vorstellungen teil ich so nicht.

    Ausserdem sollte der Herr Waters David Gilmour und Nick Mason noch einladen, da für mich so "The Wall" auf immer live etwas fehlt. Der Rest sollte Bittgesuche an Led Zeppelin stellen, dann wäre so was komplett.

    Am 9.5 beginnt der offizelle Vorverkauf für "The Who" in Oberhausen bzw. München, Karte ab 65 Euro mein ich. Zumindest in Oberhausen ist man da gut dran und muss nicht auf Leinwände schauen.

    Nochmal geschaut 9. 5. ab 00:01 stimmt, ab 64 Euro, nicht München sondern Stuttgart. Die Schleyer Halle ist auch sehr gut als Location weiß ich.

    Ich versteh eh nicht, wieso die nich einfach David Gilmour gebucht haben. Der Mann ist noch immer so bombastisch und bringt nebenbei den vielseitigeren (live-) Back-Katalog von Pink Floyd mit.
