Alle lieben Dave Grohl? Nicht alle.
Opfer einer lautstarken Hetzkampagne ist derzeit auch everybody's darling Dave Grohl. Ex-Drummer William Goldsmith, Foo Fighter von 1995 bis 1997, beklagt sich zwanzig Jahre nach seinem Ausstieg über den Umgang mit seiner Arbeit am zweiten Studioalbum "The Colour And The Shape". Grohl hatte – ohne das Wissen Goldsmith' – einen Großteil der Drumparts neu aufgenommen. Goldsmith, der seitdem ausschließlich bei Sunny Day Real Estate trommelt, sagte der Daily Mail nun, er fühle sich dadurch "kreativ vergewaltigt".
"It was a way of describing how it felt – when you put that much of yourself into something, and then without you even knowing, it is completely destroyed from existence. […] Management, the producers and Dave, I think they all wanted Dave to play drums on that record. I would have been cool if it had been half me and half him. Or even if there had been some kind of communication about what they were doing. But they basically dragged me through the coals."
